School stress can pile up fast

Heavy course loads, high expectations, and a very new sense of independence and responsibility can collide in college, making stress and anxiety an unwelcome part of college. That stress and anxiety can cause issues like insomnia, appetite changes, feelings of hopelessness, irritability, loss of joy, and more, which can make life pretty tough.

Life transitions and newfound independence can be a challenge

As you move out of your childhood home and onto a new life, a lot of feelings and new challenges can pop up in your life. These shifts can be confusing and isolating, and it can be tough to face them on your own.

Newfound independence can be intimidating, and you may find yourself feeling impulsive, anxious, or struggling to make healthy, responsible decisions. Our therapists for young adults can help you find balance, without judgment or shame. We will work together to figure out your personal values and goals, with strategies and structures to help you meet your goals while staying true to your values.

Relationships can be tough to navigate

As a young adult, you’re entering a brave new world of relationships. Whether you’re trying to make new friends, struggling with old social habits, or dealing with strife in a romantic partnership, working with a therapist can help. Our off-campus therapists near Fort Worth can work with you to develop interpersonal skills that help you build the relationships you want in life.

On top of chosen relationships in your life, you may be dealing with family struggles as your role in the world, and in your family, changes. Our therapists can work with you to help you find healthy ways to cope, to communicate, and to set boundaries with your family.

Getting to the root of your mental health struggles can help long-term

Aside from life transitions and shifts in family relationships, you may find yourself dealing with mental health struggles. Anxiety and depression, as well as the effects of trauma, can impact your life and make it hard for you to thrive.

Our team of therapists provides a variety of therapy approaches, to help you get to the roots of your mental health struggles. With supportive strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and powerful trauma healing from cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and EMDR, our team can help with whatever you’re going through.

We bring a client-centered and solution-focused approach to counseling, making sure to tailor care to each individual client.

Ghost, the Therapy Dog

Animal-assisted therapy is known to reduce stress in a therapy session, helping you build trust and open up. A friendly furry face can bring a lot of calm to the therapy room, and our therapy dog Ghost can act as a shoulder to lean on when you’re working through tough emotions.

Ghost is an Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) trained therapy dog, who works with founder therapist Bradley Williamson in all his sessions. Ghost’s presence can reduce anxiety and bring comfort to your therapy sessions, helping you get the most out of your therapy experience.
