Meet Bradley Williamson, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor | Best Southlake Therapist
Life experience led me to therapy
Growing up, I went through many difficult situations, including being a child of divorce, experiencing grief and loss, seeing relatives suffer from PTSD, dealing with bullying and social anxiety, and using overeating as an unhealthy coping mechanism throughout. These experiences give me a relatable perspective and strong empathy for those dealing with struggles, especially kids and college-aged students.
My family made use of counseling to help us all out when things got tough, and I truly appreciated the experience. It piqued my interest in therapy, and being a therapist. The extra support I had because of therapy made a clear difference for me, and I liked the idea of offering that to others as well. When I got to college, I eventually shifted my focus to counseling, and have never looked back.
What sets me apart as a therapist
As a therapist, I can be a trusted adult in your child’s world. I offer a unique perspective as a male therapist, and it is important to me to be a positive example and role model in the lives of my clients. I love supporting kids, providing them with opportunities to grow and guidance at an early age, to help them through the tough spots.
I also enhance your family’s experience with child therapy by providing parenting support, with parenting skills training using the Nurturing Parenting program. Also, because I integrate my therapy dog, Ghost, I am able to provide an additive level of therapeutic support in each session.
My life experiences, including grief, bullying, and being a child of divorce offer me ways to support connection with my clients. Connection is key in therapy, and improves opportunities for healing.
“I can relate to mental health struggles, and I know how valuable it is when someone is there to support you during those times.”

With roots in the community, I work where I live and help those around me
I had the privilege of growing up in the Southlake schools, and am proud to continue to live and work in Southlake, Texas. Being able to give back to my community through therapist support means a lot to me, and I enjoy helping those in my hometown to grow, thrive, and heal.
I proudly combine experience and expertise to provide empathetic, trusting care
I put a high priority on maintaining professional training and using evidence-based approaches to ensure I provide good care. My educational background also supports my ability to provide high-quality therapy. I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Texas. I have a Bachelor’s in Business from Texas A&M University and graduated from UCCS with a Master’s degree in Counseling. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
I use multiple therapy modalities to provide the best care possible
I bring a client-centered and solution-focused approach to counseling, making sure to tailor care to each individual client. I have training and can provide therapy in the following evidence-based therapy modalities:
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), trained by Rebecca Case, whom I personally admire and am grateful for her excellent guidance.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help with PTSD and CPTSD
Solution-focused therapy
Parenting skills training with the Nurturing Parenting program
Teaching and connecting with kids is one of my main missions
I have been developing relationships with children and young adults through work and volunteer opportunities for 14 years; it is truly one of my main missions in life. My experience and background includes working as a school counselor for Title 1 Elementary schools, and Montessori schools, and working as a therapist in private practice. I had the privilege of growing up in Southlake schools, and I understand the unique challenges students face here.
Alongside my work with elementary-aged children, I enjoy supporting college-aged young adults as they work through the challenges of life transitions. I am equipped to help with the struggles of anxiety and depression, and can help with the complicated world of family and relationship challenges as well.
I take pride in my ability to develop safe, empathetic, and trusting relationships with my clients, regardless of age. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to support my clients through their challenges.
With my therapy dog Ghost, I provide animal-assisted therapy in each session
Why do I include Ghost in my therapy sessions? It’s simple. Her presence makes me a better therapist, and makes a therapy session easier, and more helpful, for you or your child.
There’s a great deal of research evidence, and I’ve also seen in my own experience, that animal-assisted therapy makes therapy easier, for anyone regardless of age. When you’re around a friendly, happy, calm animal like Ghost, your anxiety will be lower, and it becomes easier to create a bond of trust in therapy. This trust is key to therapy working well, so including Ghost in my sessions was an easy choice for me. Helping my clients is my first and foremost goal, and adding Ghost to the mix helps me be an even better therapist.
